Day 01 :
Arrival in Leh

Touch down at Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rimpoche Airport) and transfer to your hotel. Spend the entire day taking complete rest and staying hydrated to acclimatize to the high altitude (11,500 ft). In the evening, meet your tour leader and crew for a brief orientation.

Day 02 :
Leh to Wakha

Collect your assigned motorcycles and begin your ride westward along the scenic Leh–Srinagar highway. Stop to marvel at the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Sangam, experience the gravity-defying stretch at Magnetic Hill, and pay respects at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Continue past the dramatically perched Lamayuru Monastery and over Fotu La (13,478 ft) before arriving at the peaceful hamlet of Wakha.

Day 03 :
Wakha to Padum

Turn south into the remote Suru Valley and ride past the towering twin peaks of Nun and Kun. Ascend the majestic Penzi La Pass (14,435 ft), taking in breathtaking views of the massive, winding Drang-Drung Glacier—the second-largest glacier in Ladakh. Descend along unpaved tracks into the heart of the Zanskar region, arriving in the central town of Padum.

Day 04 :
Padum Sightseeing

Dedicate the day to exploring the cultural treasures of the Zanskar Valley. Ride up to the cliffside Karsha Monastery, the largest Gelugpa monastery in Zanskar, offering commanding views across the valley floor. Visit the Shellea waterfall and experience the quiet, untouched lifestyle of local Zanskari villages before gathering for an evening briefing.

Day 05 :
Padum to Jispa

Embark on an exhilarating off-road adventure heading south along the Shinku La route. Pass the majestic, sacred monolith Gonbo Rangjon and cross the high mountain pass of Shinku La (16,580 ft) into Himachal Pradesh. Navigate river crossings and rugged tracks to descend into the lush Lahaul Valley for a stay in Jispa.

Day 06 :
Jispa to Leh

Take on a classic Himalayan riding marathon as you head back toward Ladakh. Climb through the hairpin bends of Baralacha La Pass (16,040 ft), pass the turquoise Suraj Tal, and ride across the cold plains of Sarchu. Take on the 21 hairpin turns of the Gata Loops, traverse the vast More Plains, and conquer Tanglang La Pass (17,480 ft) before making your final descent into Leh.

Day 07 :
Departure from Leh

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel before transferring to Leh Airport for your homeward flight, taking back memories of the wild Zanskar wilderness.

This is a 7-day Himalayan motorcycle expedition covering Leh, Wakha, Suru Valley, Padum in Zanskar and Jispa in Lahaul, with a dedicated acclimatization day and a sightseeing day in Padum.

The expedition covers approximately 900–950 KM, with an estimated total riding distance of around 925 KM. The actual distance may vary depending on road conditions, route selection and local diversions.

The route covers Leh, Wakha, Padum, Jispa and Sarchu, taking riders through the dramatic landscapes of Zanskar and Lahaul. Highlights include Penzi La, Shinku La, Baralacha La and Tanglang La.

Yes. The expedition crosses Penzi La Pass while travelling from Wakha to Padum and Shinku La Pass on the journey from Padum to Jispa. These high-altitude passes connect the remote Zanskar region with Lahaul.

Yes. Day 1 is reserved for acclimatization in Leh, allowing riders to rest after arriving at high altitude. The following day begins with the ride towards Wakha, followed by the journey into Zanskar.

Terms & Conditions

Eligibility

  • Riders must be between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • A valid MCWG driving license is required.
  • A valid photo ID must be presented.
  • People with asthma/epilepsy are not allowed to participate in bike tours due to safety concerns.

 

Luggage Rules

  • Trolley bags are not allowed as they are not suitable for bike rides.
  • Maximum luggage weight allowed is 20 kg per rider.
  • The company is not responsible for any loss or damage to luggage.

 

Bike & Riding Gear

  • Riding gear (helmet, riding jacket, etc.) is provided by the company as complimentary for your safety.
  • Riding Jackets sizes range from Small to 3XL.
  • Riders must check the bike before starting the trip and report any issues immediately.
  • Any external damage to the bike or riding gear during the tour must be paid for by the rider.
  • A security deposit of $120 USD per bike is required for foreign nationals. It will be refunded at the end of the tour after checking for damages.
  • A security deposit of INR 5000/- per bike is required for indian nationals. It will be refunded at the end of the tour after checking for damages.

 

Safety & Medical

  • The company does not provide insurance for injury or death.
  • Riders are responsible for their own safety and must arrange their own insurance.
  • First-aid kits are provided for minor injuries only.
  • In case of medical emergencies or hospitalization, riders must pay for their own treatment. The company will help with support but is not financially responsible.

 

Changes, Cancellations & Delays

  • Uninformed extension of travel dates will be charged at double the rental rate per extra day.
    If a rider abandons the bike mid-tour, they will be charged for its return.
  • In case of natural disasters (e.g. landslides, floods, snow fall), the itinerary may change.
  • The company is not responsible for such situations.
  • In the event of route changes due to natural calamities that result in a longer journey, the additional charges will be borne by the rider.
  • Delays or skipped places due to natural causes may incur additional charges.
  • In case of war or public health emergencies (e.g. COVID-19), the company may reschedule the tour for your safety.

 

Accommodation

  • If listed hotels are unavailable due to maintenance, alternative hotels of a similar standard will be arranged.
  • Maximum 3 adults per room.
  • The third person will be provided a mattress and bedding.

 

Rider Conduct

  • Riders must cooperate with the team Marshall throughout the trip.
  • Any misbehaviors can lead to cancellation of the tour.
