Day 01 :
Arrival

Arrive at Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rimpoche Airport) and transfer to your hotel. Dedicate the entire day to mandatory rest and hydration to acclimatize to the high altitude (11,500 ft). In the evening, meet your tour team for a gentle walk around the local market and an initial orientation session.

Day 02 :
Leh Sight Seeing

Spend the day exploring Leh’s prominent historical and cultural landmarks. Visit the iconic white-domed Shanti Stupa for sweeping views of the Leh valley, tour the historic Leh Palace, and pay tribute to military heroism at the Hall of Fame.

Day 03 :
Leh to Hunder

Begin your motorcycle journey by ascending the world-famous Khardung La Pass (17,582 ft), taking in vistas of the Karakoram range. Descend into the scenic Nubra Valley and reach Hunder, famous for its high-altitude cold-desert sand dunes, where you can watch the sunset and ride the double-humped Bactrian Camels.

Day 04 :
Hunder to Pangong

Follow the riverbed routes and off-road trails winding along the Shyok River. Navigate through mountain bends and water crossings to arrive at the vast, world-renowned Pangong Tso. Check into your lakeside camp and watch the brilliant color-changing waters as the sun sets over the Tibetan border.

Day 05 :
Pangong to Hanle via Umlingla/Migla

Embark on an ambitious high-altitude ride deeper into the Changthang plateau toward Umling La Pass (19,024 ft), the world's highest motorable road. After conquering the summit and taking photos at the peak, descend into the peaceful dark-sky sanctuary of Hanle, home to the historic Hanle Monastery and the Indian Astronomical Observatory.

Day 06 :
Hanle to Tsomoriri

Riding through unpaved tracks and rolling plateau trails across Changthang, pass the smaller high-altitude salt lake Kyagar Tso before reaching the isolated, turquoise waters of Tso Moriri. Stay in the serene village of Karzok, nestled along the banks of this sacred wetland sanctuary.

Day 07 :
Tsomoriri to Leh

Trace your way back toward Leh following the course of the Indus River. Stop along the route at Chumathang to experience the natural steaming hot springs along the riverbank before arriving back in Leh to hand over the bikes and celebrate the completion of the expedition with a farewell dinner.

Day 08 :
Departure from Leh

Check out from your hotel after breakfast and transfer to Leh Airport for your onward flight, concluding your Changthang adventure.

This is an 8-day Ladakh motorcycle expedition, covering Leh, Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Hanle and Tso Moriri, with dedicated time for acclimatization and local sightseeing in Leh.

The expedition covers approximately 900–950 KM, with an estimated total riding distance of around 920 KM. The route includes high-altitude passes, remote mountain roads and challenging sections across Ladakh’s Changthang region.

The expedition covers Leh, Hunder in Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Hanle and Tso Moriri. Riders also experience Khardung La, the Shyok route, Umling La/Mig La and the vast Changthang plateau.

Yes. The route from Pangong to Hanle takes riders through the Umling La/Mig La region before continuing to Hanle. This is one of the expedition’s most remote and high-altitude sections.

Yes. Day 1 is dedicated to acclimatization in Leh, allowing riders to rest after arriving at high altitude. Day 2 includes local Leh sightseeing before the expedition begins toward Nubra Valley.

Terms & Conditions

Eligibility

  • Riders must be between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • A valid MCWG driving license is required.
  • A valid photo ID must be presented.
  • People with asthma/epilepsy are not allowed to participate in bike tours due to safety concerns.

 

Luggage Rules

  • Trolley bags are not allowed as they are not suitable for bike rides.
  • Maximum luggage weight allowed is 20 kg per rider.
  • The company is not responsible for any loss or damage to luggage.

 

Bike & Riding Gear

  • Riding gear (helmet, riding jacket, etc.) is provided by the company as complimentary for your safety.
  • Riding Jackets sizes range from Small to 3XL.
  • Riders must check the bike before starting the trip and report any issues immediately.
  • Any external damage to the bike or riding gear during the tour must be paid for by the rider.
  • A security deposit of $120 USD per bike is required for foreign nationals. It will be refunded at the end of the tour after checking for damages.
  • A security deposit of INR 5000/- per bike is required for indian nationals. It will be refunded at the end of the tour after checking for damages.

 

Safety & Medical

  • The company does not provide insurance for injury or death.
  • Riders are responsible for their own safety and must arrange their own insurance.
  • First-aid kits are provided for minor injuries only.
  • In case of medical emergencies or hospitalization, riders must pay for their own treatment. The company will help with support but is not financially responsible.

 

Changes, Cancellations & Delays

  • Uninformed extension of travel dates will be charged at double the rental rate per extra day.
    If a rider abandons the bike mid-tour, they will be charged for its return.
  • In case of natural disasters (e.g. landslides, floods, snow fall), the itinerary may change.
  • The company is not responsible for such situations.
  • In the event of route changes due to natural calamities that result in a longer journey, the additional charges will be borne by the rider.
  • Delays or skipped places due to natural causes may incur additional charges.
  • In case of war or public health emergencies (e.g. COVID-19), the company may reschedule the tour for your safety.

 

Accommodation

  • If listed hotels are unavailable due to maintenance, alternative hotels of a similar standard will be arranged.
  • Maximum 3 adults per room.
  • The third person will be provided a mattress and bedding.

 

Rider Conduct

  • Riders must cooperate with the team Marshall throughout the trip.
  • Any misbehaviors can lead to cancellation of the tour.
