Your adventure begins in the evening! Meet your team and fellow travelers in Delhi to board a comfortable overnight Volvo bus. As you leave the city lights behind, you’ll head toward the cool air of the Himalayas.
Arrive in the beautiful hill station of Manali in the morning. Check into your hotel and take the day to relax. You can explore the local markets or visit small cafes to get ready for the big drive starting tomorrow.
After breakfast, the road trip truly begins! We drive through the famous Atal Tunnel and enter the stunning Lahaul Valley. We will climb over the Baralacha La Pass (16,040 ft), where you’ll see incredible snow-capped peaks. We end the day at our high-altitude camp in Sarchu.
Today is a thrilling day of driving! We tackle the Gata Loops (21 famous hairpin bends) and cross Tanglang La (17,480 ft), one of the highest roads in the world. We will also cruise through the flat, surreal Morey Plains before arriving in Leh for a well-deserved rest.
We head toward the famous Nubra Valley by crossing Khardung La, the gateway to the north. We’ll stop at the top for photos before visiting Diskit Monastery to see the giant Maitreya Buddha. In the evening, enjoy the white sand dunes of Hunder and ride the double-humped camels.
Today we drive to Turtuk, a beautiful village that was once part of Pakistan. It is famous for its apricot orchards and unique Balti culture. We will also visit Thang, the very last village on the Indo-Pak border, before returning to Hunder for the night.
We follow the scenic Shyok River route to reach the iconic Pangong Lake. This famous blue lake sits at 14,000 feet and changes colors throughout the day. Spend your evening watching the sunset over the water and enjoying the bright stars.
Get ready to make history! We drive to Umling La, the highest motorable road in the world. We will also pass through Demchok on the Indo-China border. We finish the day in Hanle, home to India’s best stargazing observatory and a peaceful monastery.
Heading back to Leh, we drive across the raw beauty of the Changthang plateau. We will stop at the Chumathang Hot Springs, which are famous for their medicinal water. The drive follows the Indus River, where you might even spot some local wildlife.
We leave Leh and head west. On the way, we stop at Magnetic Hill and see the Sangam, where two different colored rivers meet. We will also visit Lamayuru Monastery, which is built on a landscape that looks exactly like the surface of the moon!
Today the scenery changes from the brown mountains of Ladakh to the green meadows of Kashmir. We cross the legendary Zoji La Pass and descend into Sonamarg, the "Meadow of Gold." Enjoy the fresh pine air and the sound of flowing rivers.
On your final day, relax in a comfortable cab as we drive you into the heart of the Kashmir Valley. We will drop you in Srinagar, where you can enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake. Your epic mountain journey ends here with memories to last a lifetime!
